The National Museum of Art of Romania holds the richest and most valuable collection of European decorative art in the country, with a heritage of over ten thousand pieces of tapestry and furniture, of decorative arts in ceramics, glass and metal. In the six rooms of the Gallery of European Decorative Art, a significant selection from this collection is presented, reconstructing through pieces of great sophistication and technical performance a history of taste and domestic ambience in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Spain, Russia of the 16th - 19th centuries.
These multiple cultural profiles have contributed to the definition over time of a European identity reflected in this exhibition. The European continent was not only the space for the manifestation of centuries old practices in the artistic field, but also the place where creative input from other continents merged into defining expressions of the exceptionality of the human spirit.

Access to the European Decorative Art Gallery is through entrance A2, 3rd floor, Calea Victoriei 49-53, from Wednesday to Friday, between 10:00 and 18:00 and Saturday - Sunday between 11:00 and 19:00.
