Artistic developments in Paris were a source of inspiration for generations of artists, including emerging Romanian painters who discovered nature and the city as artistic motifs during their sojourns in France.
Using light and colour to capture the specific atmosphere of a place, painters such as Grigorescu, Andreescu, Pallady and Schweitzer-Cumpăna explored the countryside, the sea and the city with equal interest.
An exhibition which reveals both the artists’ sensitivity and the collectors’ preferences.
