Last week to visit: New Black Romanticism
An exhibition exploring old Romantic themes such as the enigmatic, the obscure, the mysterious from the perspective of 34 international contemporary artists.
Organized jointly by the National Museum of Art of Romania and Künstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin, the exhibition covers new trends from the progressive Dark Wave to the so-called Finsterstrategie which reinterpret earlier Romantic common places in a contemporary key.
The selection includes works by a wide array of artists born in Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Norway, The Netherlands, Romania, Spain and the USA.
